 Youbi Architectural Designers’ Philosophy

– Something Old
Something old, such as old materials, antiques, traditional techniques and things that hold memories, will add a taste or a sense of gentleness.

– Something New
When we create a new space for clients, we look forward to the moment that they can begin their new lives, projects, or businesses.  Something new such as ideas, designs and usage that are suitable for their new life, will bring a fresh air to the space and their life.

– Something Borrowed
No one can build something or create a space alone.  By combining people’s power, such as knowledge, hands, techniques and experience, we can build something or create a space.
Something borrowed will produce the connection to the society and love.

-Something From The Forest
Youbi is located in Nishiawakura village where 95% of land is forest.

Youbi architectural design uses gifts from the forest to bring communities together like urban and rural, fishing villages and forestry towns.  Youbi architectural design also integrates ethical, economic, natural and generational cycles into its design concepts.  As well as deep consideration for the flow of time from the past through to the present and into the future.

-Something Makes A Scenery
At some point, buildings will change the scenery that is familiar to someone.  Unnoticeably, a building shifts itself from the spotlight of the scenery and blends into the background, as if it’s been always there from long time ago.  That’s the buildings and space that Youbi wants to create.  To achieve that, we care to create something sustainable, not only how it looks.  We had a day that we listened to what a family talked.  We had a day that we planed a business plan together.  Having our dream in our heart, we give our full attention to forest and future.
